For context, i was a combined science student who eventually made it to jc and took on H2 chem. I struggled initially but through the help of Mr Joshua, I managed to get a distinction during A’ Levels!

His simplified notes were easy to understand and refer to before an examination (saved me on SO MANY OCCASIONS!) and he provides consults for any clarifications that i needed. 

The place is brand new, super central (Novena!) and close to many many good food. I study there all the time, even on days I do not have classes with Joshua as the place is really conducive!

I first joined Mr Joshua's chemistry class in the middle of J2 as I was struggling to understand certain chemistry concepts. He made the classroom a safe space to ask questions, where we did not need to be afraid to make mistakes. He was willing to help even outside my standard tuition timing and readily answered any questions I had. By going through his hand-picked questions in class, I was able to be exposed to various types of commonly tested questions and with his guidance, these initially difficult questions became ‘give-away questions’. Because of this, I was quickly able to clear up my doubts and saw drastic improvement in my performance.

Mr Joshua is a really caring and cheerful teacher who does his best to try and cater to his students. Mr Joshua has not only helped me understand chemistry concepts but has also tried his best to motivate and encourage me and his other students when we are stressed with school and other matters. He also gives us a lot of constructive feedback and advice to help us form better study methods. Without his guidance and effort to help me learn chemistry, I would have continued to fail the subject. Mr Joshua started tutoring me in secondary 3. I had previously failed science in secondary 2 and therefore did not have much knowledge or foundation. However, with his help, I managed to start to understand what was taught in school and got an A1 for combined science for O’ Levels. When i entered JC, I decided to take H2 chemistry as I did enjoy learning chemistry in secondary school. Despite taking combined science which was seen as a slight disadvantage for me, I have been able to grasp the concepts due to Mr Joshua’s guidance and help, and managed to obtain a B for A’ Levels.
